Plantronics BackBeat Pro 5100
Introductory price 179.99 €
Despite its ergonomic qualities (intuitive and complete user experience, good comfort / support, good autonomy), the Backbeat Pro 5100 will find it difficult to stand out in terms of sound performance. They fail to recreate the very pleasant surprise of the first Backbeat Pro (headphones) and deliver a particularly flattering and energetic sound reproduction; too energetic even, which immediately limits the listening volume or the listening time. We prefer the Elite 65t, just as complete, but with a slightly softer and above all flexible sound reproduction, or the Beoplay E8, for example.
Strong points
- Generous extension in the extreme bass / extreme treble.
- Complete and intuitive user experience.
- Multilingual voice indications.
- Good autonomy.
Weak points
- Sound rendering that lacks finesse and especially softness.
- The specific assignment of commands requires a learning period.
- No precise indication of the battery level on the case.
- Headphones that can be massive for small ears.

Without shaking up the market, the WF-XB700 are positioned as honest headphones true wireless, with a very solid autonomy. We still prefer models like the Jabra Elite 65t, the Tune 120 TWS or the Huawei Freebuds 3i, which are generally more efficient or more versatile.
