Princess Leonor back: this support from her whole family for Ukrainian refugees
Princess Leonor of Spain was with her whole family on Easter Eve in the suburbs of Madrid. This to visit a reception and assistance center for Ukrainian refugees in Spain.
Princess Leonor of Spain16, did a new public appearance the day before Easter. It was alongside King Felipe VI, 54, Queen Letizia, 49, and Infanta Sofía, 14, that Leonor of Spain was seen today in the suburbs of Madrid. The Spanish royal family was visiting the reception and support center for Ukrainian refugees in Spain. Upon arrival at the center, the royals were welcomed by the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations as well as by the Secretary of State for Migrations.
During the visit, the royal family started by the direction of the center. The General Directorate of Police, the Catholic Association of Spanish Immigrants and the Centers for International Protection have responsible for welcoming their Majesties. Subsequently, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía made meeting some refugees who willingly told their stories. Queen Letizia of Spain and Princess Leonor also meetings with refugee children to see their designs. During the visit, King Felipe VI of Spain took the time to play with a child and even interacted with a young boy listening to music.
Spain shows its unwavering support for the Ukrainian people
Note that the Spanish monarchy is one of the first to supporting the Ukrainian people fleeing the horrors of war. Moreover, only a few days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, King Felipe VI of Spain had visited a logistics center that is trying to get people out of the country. The King and Queen of Spain also visited the Red Cross center which coordinates humanitarian aid from Spain to Ukraine.
Note also that this visit is the first where we see Princess Leonor of Spain make a public appearance for 6 months.
