Specially designed to offer 3D sound on the PS5, the latter embeds Tempest 3D AudioTech technology, which allows you to immerse yourself in immersive sound universes where you will have the impression that sounds come from all directions. It benefits from 12 hours of autonomy, which remains correct for the price. It is also compatible with PS4, PSVR and PC.

The Audeze Penrose X headphones are an excellent gaming headset for all your consoles. If we regret a slightly recessed microphone and a little low autonomy (12 hours), the rest is almost faultless.
Ergonomic, very comfortable, this top-of-the-range helmet has a cost, however, since you will have to spend a little over 300 euros. But given the audio quality it provides, whether on consoles, PC or for your music, we won’t regret the purchase.

The Logitech G Pro X headphones are a reference. It benefits from a very sober and elegant design, with chrome discs. In terms of audio, the headset offers very good quality 7.1 surround sound, both round and immersive. The headset’s passive noise reduction allows you to fully immerse yourself in the game.
The headset is equipped with an external sound card, easily configurable using the G Hub software provided by Logitech. The integrated microphone does not demerit with a good rendering of the voices of your opponents and partners. However, it remains a little below the competition in this area. We also regret the lack of comfort of the accessory. It is sold around 80 euros on Amazon, an unbeatable value for money.

? What budget to allocate for a PS4 or PS5 helmet?
The market for gaming headsets is extensive and you can find everything from cheap to high-end headsets. It would therefore be useful to determine how much you want to spend. From 80 to 100 euros, you will find a host of excellent options. However, there are some very good helmets to be found at lower prices, even if it should not go below 40 euros.
? Wireless or wired headphones?
That’s the big question. Most of the headsets we’ve selected are wireless, but that doesn’t mean you have to choose one. We’d tend to stick with the cordless side, which avoids the hassle of charging and cable clutter. A wired headset will be cheaper though, so that’s up to you.
? What is 3D audio on PS5?
Stereo and surround sound have their own advantages, but for gaming, nothing beats 3D audio. Simply put, 3D audio lets you hear sounds as if they are happening around you. It puts you, the player, center stage and brings extra intensity to every scene.
While previous game consoles simulated 3D audio by increasing the volume of an effect as your on-screen character got closer, 3D audio deploys timed effects, using a host of intelligent audio algorithms to create natural and realistic soundscapes.
