The announced appointment of Hélène Davo to the post of first president of the Bastia Court of Appeal arouses indignant reactions in the judiciary.

Sstupor and tremors (of indignation) in the hushed little world of the judiciary. Three days after the publication of a “transparency” (draft appointment) relating to eleven posts of heads of court (of appeal), the announced promotion of President Macron’s legal adviser to the post of first president of the court of call from Bastia (Haute-Corse) goes badly. A deaf but lively bronca agitates the jurisdictions of the country since the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) decided, on 1er June, to nominate Hélène Davo for this position. Ten other magistrates, all classified “outside the hierarchy” – the highest rank in the judiciary – had applied. Among them: the first president of the Court of Appeal of Cayenne (Guyana) and several presidents of judicial courts…
