Dyson unveils three new attachments for its stick vacuums

In addition to their performance, one of the great strengths of Dyson stick vacuums is the extensive accessorization of these devices. The British expands its range with three tips for delicate surfaces, tight places and animals.

When you buy a Dyson stick vacuum cleaner, if you opt for the Absolute version, the box contains the device itself but also a large number of accessories, such as electric mini-brushes, various and varied brushes, angled tubes… We we may soon have “even more absolute” or “infinite” iterations featuring one or more of the three new heads presented recently.

The anti-scratch brush is intended for very fragile surfaces, in particular TV screens or monitors. The British firm, which gives pride of place to figures and technologies, specifies that this head is made up very precisely of “8100 ultra-fine polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) polymer filaments” with a diameter of only 0.05 mm, and that paint and make-up brushes have been a source of inspiration. Besides the fineness and flexibility of its bristles, the advantage of the soft brush is to embark an almost automatic cleaning system: just push the red part forward to let the bristles in before turning the gray ring.Nubs will then shake the bristles to rid them of dust likely to scratch delicate surfaces.

The soft brush won’t damage screens, according to Dyson.

The cramped space accessory is a little less technical. This is a crevice nozzle whose orientation can be changed by rotating it at its base. The idea is to be able to offset it (by 22° exactly) so that the walls of the collector, often imposing on Dyson stick vacuum cleaners, do not come up against certain obstacles, typically the wall, when you want to vacuum behind a piece of furniture. . Surprisingly, this nozzle is not equipped with LEDs at its end to facilitate the identification of dust in dark places, while Dyson has already used this system.

Finally, it is not very surprising to see our British neighbors taking an interest in animal welfare. Dyson has therefore developed for the latter a brush with very hard metal bristles to form a comb capable of removing the hairs in the furs, even the thickest. And as it is never very pleasant to have to remove dead hair and pet dander by hand, the pet brush benefits from an automatic cleaning system. By releasing the pressure, the 364 pins angled at 35° retract into the head and the hairs are sucked up and directed towards the collector. Dyson specifies that the acoustic properties of the animal brush have been particularly worked out so as not to disturb our furry friends too much.

The anti-scratch brush and the accessory for confined space can be acquired separately at the still high price of 40 €. A pack, baptized thorough cleaning kit by Dyson, combining these two tips as well as a flexible extension, will also be offered for 90 €, which is not within the reach of all budgets.

The animal brush is not available on its own at the moment, since it comes with a flexible extension (100 cm) to keep the noisy vacuum cleaner as far away as possible from our four-legged friends, all for 75 €.

To take advantage of all these accessories, however, you will need to have a compatible Dyson stick vacuum cleaner: V7, V8, V10, V11, V12, V15 and Outsize. Owners of more compact models like the Omni-Glide or Micro 1.5 kg will not be able to plug in the tips.
