This second AR headset would already be in the pipes as well as a pair of augmented reality glasses, but we will still have to be patient to discover them.

VR seems to be Apple’s new workhorse and rumors have been swirling for many months about a mixed reality headset in active development at the company’s premises.

A presentation planned in the coming months for Apple’s first VR headset

According to the various information currently circulating, this augmented reality helmet could be presented at the end of 2022 or in 2023 for a public release scheduled for the same year. We even learned a few days ago that Apple had registered the realityOS brand, which could very well be the name of the operating system that equips the device.

This first helmet would have a power equivalent to that provided by the M1 Pro chip, unveiled at the end of 2021 and could cost at least 2,000 dollars according to the first estimates given by analysts.

In addition to this first mixed reality headset, Apple is already working on the future of this new product category with two other devices planned for 2024.

The brand is preparing the sequel with a second headset and mixed reality glasses for the general public

The first would simply be the second generation of this mixed reality headset. It would obviously be more powerful than the previous model to multiply the uses at home and would therefore benefit from Apple’s advances in terms of processor.

The second product to be released in 2024 would be more calibrated for use by the general public since it is a pair of mixed reality glasses, connected to the iPhone to offer contextual information in real time and new uses for users when they are on the move.

This product remains a huge challenge for the manufacturer, who will have to develop a product with a design that is elegant enough to be worn constantly on the street, but also powerful enough to offer comfortable autonomy.

Apple will therefore allow itself a few additional months to take its first steps into the world of mixed reality and VR with a first product and find uses useful enough to convince beyond its fan base to pay several hundred dollars. euros in this futuristic pair of glasses.
