At the time, Donald Trump was reacting to a rape case involving US Supreme Court judge Brett Kavanaugh. The President of the United States thus declares that society is going through a "Terrifying times for young men in America, when you are told guilty of something that you may not be guilty of".
What does the song say? What a terrible time for the boys, who "can't look women in the eye anymore like it's disturbing, is this rape or am i just nice?" She denounces jumble in the refrains sexual harassment, the culture of rape and the ambient misogyny. The verses list all the activities that become more complicated as a woman: taking public transport, putting on a miniskirt, having a drink until late …
A timeless hit … and international
We can only love the humor and biting irony of the young woman, who denounces a masculinist victimization discourse, refusing to question herself and to think about the consequences of their actions. Lynzy ends on a very galvanizing note, calling for revolt: "It's time to stand up and use our collective voice" she said, calling for a vote.
