Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married in Las Vegas – like many other celebrities before them.
Jennifer Lopez (52) has married her fiancé, Ben Affleck (49). The two mega stars did not allow themselves a huge luxury wedding with hundreds of guests, but married in a small circle in Las Vegas. However, Bennifer are by no means the first celebrities to have tied the knot in Vegas. These stars also got married there.
Elvis Presley: The Las Vegas Legend
The “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, Elvis Presley (1935-1977), is practically a celebrity role model for Las Vegas weddings. On May 1, 1967 he married Priscilla Presley (77). The two tied the knot in a short ceremony at the Aladdin Hotel. To this day there are numerous Elvis impersonators in Vegas, who often serve as music at spontaneous weddings. Elvis and Priscilla Presley weren’t the first well-known celebrity couple to marry in Las Vegas.
A year earlier, for example, Frank Sinatra (1915-1998) and actress Mia Farrow (77) dared in the city in the US state of Nevada. In 1966 the two got married in the Sands Hotel, but the two were divorced in 1968.
Britney Spears was only married for 55 hours
One of the shortest celebrity Vegas marriages was that of Britney Spears, 40, and her childhood friend Jason Alexander, 40. The two wed in January 2004 at the same chapel as Lopez and Affleck, the “Little White Wedding Chapel.” After only 55 hours, the marriage was annulled. A few months later, Spears gave the yes word to Kevin Federline (44).
Angelina Jolie (47) and Billy Bob Thornton (66) also married in Las Vegas in 2000. The two were only a couple of months before they said yes. In 2003, the Hollywood stars divorced.
In December 1991, Cindy Crawford (56) and Richard Gere (72) spontaneously tied the knot in the “Little Church Of The West”. Instead of a wedding dress, Cindy Crawford wore a blue Armani suit. In 1995 this marriage was also divorced.
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis had three daughters
One of the longest-lasting Vegas weddings was that of Demi Moore (59) and Bruce Willis (67). The couple were married in 1987, separated in 1998 and divorced in 2000. They are parents to three daughters, Rumer (33), Scout (30) and Tallulah (28).
In May 2019, Jonas Brothers star Joe Jonas (32) and “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner (26) also married in Las Vegas following the Billboard Music Awards. Star DJ Diplo (43), who livestreamed the wedding on Instagram, also took part in the spontaneous ceremony. The following June, the two walked down the aisle again in front of family and friends in France.
Also married in Las Vegas were Nicolas Cage (58) and Riko Shibata, David Harbor (47) and Lily Allen (37), Carmen Electra (50) and Dennis Rodman (61), Shia LaBeouf (36) and Mia Goth (28 ), Joan Collins (89) and Peter Holm (75), as well as Pamela Anderson (55) and Rick Salomon (54).
