In Pessac, Gironde, a woman waiting for her bus was violently attacked with a knife and hammer by a man on Sunday July 17. A 39-year-old suspect was arrested a few hours later by the crime squad.

The facts took place in the town of Pessac around 10 am. A woman who waiting for his bus started being insulted by an individual for no reason. A provocation to which she did not respond. But then the man walked up to her and gave her a hammer blow on the head and three stab wounds in the arms and head before fleeing.
The suspect already known to justice
Quickly alerted, the firefighters transported the woman in a condition deemed serious to the Pessac clinic. “His vital prognosis is not engaged“, however, indicated the prosecution. The victim was also able to give a description of his attacker to the police.
A suspect corresponding to this description was arrested by the police officers of the anti-crime brigade at the end of the morning. The man, aged 39, and already known to justice for violence and drug-related offenses, was taken into custody. According to information from Sud Ouest, the investigation would have made it possible to trace another potential victim.
