Mick Schumacher already tested his new work outfit and the seat in the racing car. In the coming year he will start in Formula 1.

Mick Schumacher (21) is about to make his Formula 1 debut with Team Haas F1. The racing team announced this on December 2nd. The 21-year-old will drive for the team in the premier class of motorsport from 2021. At the Sakhir GP, he tested his new red and black overalls and the seat of the racing car, as pictures from Bahrain show. He wrote on Instagram: "It was a special day for me. Exciting, hard-working and definitely unforgettable. Thank you for having me with you today! @ Haasf1team # HaasF1 # F1".

According to Haas, Mick Schumacher will be racing twice in December – in training for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 11 and in the young driver test at the Yas Marina Circuit on December 15. It is scheduled to start in Australia on March 21, 2021.

A dream becomes true

"I always believed that this dream would come true," writes Schumacher on Instagram about his commitment. He also posted a video previously shared by the official "Formula 1" account. It shows Mick in 2000 as a toddler with his father Michael Schumacher (51). He's sitting in a kart, his father showing him the steering wheel. "Was this the moment when Baby @mickschumacher knew that he wanted to be a racing driver?" Is the text of "F1".

Not only fans are looking forward to the entry of Michael Schumacher's son into Formula 1. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team stated on Twitter: "The name Schumacher is back in Formula 1, where it belongs." Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean (34) tweeted: "Welcome to F1 Mick. You will drive in a team with incredible people. Take good care of them and they will work for you day and night." And the former F1 star Nico Rosberg (35) wrote in an Instagram comment: "Great news! Enjoy this moment – we are all looking forward to 2021."
