After VW’s e-car, LG is now surprising Star Wars fans with a special version of its C2 smart TV. The limited variant of the television is limited to only 501 copies. Real Star Wars fans have to be quick to secure the special TV. Pre-orders are already possible at Saturn (see Saturn).

Unlike the standard variant, the Star Wars version of the LG OLED C2 offers a user interface with matching elements as well as exclusive content in the gallery. These can be found in the two areas “Star Wars Art: The Conceptual Designs” and “Journey of Darth Vader”. The movement cursor also appears as a lightsaber – awesome. In addition, the C2’s remote control features the Star Wars logo.

The remote control also matches LG’s Star Wars television (Image source: LG)

Another function seems a bit strange: when you turn on the television, it’s familiar Darth Vader breathing sound listen. Every Star Wars fan can decide for themselves whether this should still be desired after a longer period of use.

Just like the standard version of the TV, there is one 65-inch diagonal screen to disposal. The Smart TV in Star Wars style is not offered in smaller versions. It also stays at a 4K resolution, i.e. 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are still part of the game.

Also on board is LG’s well-known webOS operating system in version 22, which is also compatible with Amazon’s Alexa and the Google Assistant, among other things, and offers access to all common streaming services. The technical basis is the 5th generation Alpha9 processorwhich uses deep learning algorithms to optimize images and sound in real time.

Gamers also benefit from the Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support as well as VRR, HGiG and ALLM. LG also promises one Response time of less than 1 ms. The typical connections of the LG OLED C2 are also part of the limited version, which means, among other things, four HDMI 2.1 ports. WLAN, Ethernet and Bluetooth are of course also supported.
