The reward system PlayStation Stars is coming to PS5 this month in the West, offering freebies such as digital collectibles to players who complete certain challenges on PS5 games. The system has four levels of increasing “value”, or so it was believed.
The mysterious Diamond tier
Indeed, it would seem that the PlayStation Stars rewards program includes a “Diamond” levelwhich would be, according to dataminer and redditor the_andshrew, accessible only by invitation.
This fifth level is mentioned in images and animations hosted on the PlayStation websitealong with a description:
“In an endless sea of stars, there seems to be nowhere to hide. But you wouldn’t be here if you let such challenges stop you. Welcome to Level 5.”
In addition, according to the information collected, those who will be lucky enough to access the Diamond level will instantly receive a unique digital figurine entitled “Level 5 Diorama – Bots Don’t Breathe”. This figure is based on the game Astro Bot by Team Asobi.
Angry Gamers
This information naturally caused a wave of anger within the community of PlayStation gamers. It is not known, however, whether this VIP level will be implemented or not during the global launch of the PlayStation Stars program. It’s also unclear what perks that Diamond tier might grant, or even the requirements for being invited.
After polemic a few days ago on tier 4 of the program which gives priority access to the brand’s customer service for the biggest players (you must have purchased at least 4 games on the PlayStation Store and obtained a minimum of 128 rare trophies on your account), we can say that the release of the new PlayStation service does not make many happy.
PlayStation Stars rewards service will be launched in North America on October 5 and in Europe on October 13so we don’t have very long to wait for more information on this famous mystery tier.
