MagentaTV is already preparing for the extensive coverage of the 2022 World Cup. The new channel Fußball.TV 1 was launched for this purpose and will be broadcast next week.

The MagentaTV program for the 2022 World Cup will start next week on September 19. Then the new channel Fußball.TV 1 will start. From 7 p.m. on Monday, the one-hour documentary “No Rainbow in the Desert – The Soccer World Cup in Qatar” will be shown there about the controversial host country.
Kick-off program on Fußball.TV 1 on MagentaTV revolves around the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
Afterwards, at 8 p.m., a prominent panel discussion will take up the topic of the documentary. Legendary coach Ewald Lienen, SPD politician Sigmar Gabriel, ex-national player Tabea Kemme, DFB media director Steffen Simon and Philipp Köster (“11 Friends”) will discuss with MagentaTV hosts Anett Sattler and Johannes B. Kerner.
In addition to documentaries and talks, a total of 28 historical games will be available on MagentaTV from September 19. This includes all German World Cup games of the title wins from the years 1974, 1990 and 2014. In addition there are World Cup finals from the years 1978 in Argentina, 1994 in the USA, 1998 in France, 2002 in Japan, 2006 in Germany, 2010 in South Africa and 2018 in Russia. Selected World Cup finals are even re-recorded and offered in full length – including all of Germany’s World Cup victories.

16 games of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be shown exclusively on Telekom’s TV offer, all others will also be shown in parallel on the public broadcasters ARD and ZDF. MagentaTV also shows all games in UHD. There should then be up to 14 hours of daily programming for the World Cup.
The new channel Fußball.TV 1 can be found on channel 22 in the standard assignment on MagentaTV.
