In the industrial wasteland of Bas-Chantenay, the manufacturing workshop adjoins the Loire and the “Black Crane”, one of the vestiges of shipbuilding in Nantes. The eyewear manufacturer MB Production was born there, in 1990, when France still had nearly 200 eyewear manufacturers. After relocations to China or Italy, which largely dominate the market, there are now around twenty eyewear manufacturers in France, mainly in the Jura and in Ain, who are experiencing a second youth thanks to the wave of ” made in France”.
