The Elder Scrolls 6: When is release? Todd Howard speaks out

The Elder Scrolls Skyrim from 2011 was a hit and still has a lot of fans. So it’s hardly surprising that many gamers are longing for the already announced The Elder Scrolls 6.

In a conversation with YouTuber Lex Fridman, Howard commented on the question of the game’s release.

“I have a vague idea,” he replies. “I wish it was soon. We want them out too, you know? I wish they didn’t take as long as they did but it is what it is. Look, if I could go back in time it never would be my plan was to wait as long as I thought.”

Howard speaks of long-term fun

Howard dodges the question, but lets fans know that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be a title like Skyrim that they can play for a long time after release. He speaks of ten or even twenty years in which fans experience adventures. Of course, this does not mean the playing time that is necessary to play it through.

First, Bethesda will release the major Starfield project in 2023, followed by The Elder Scrolls 6, and then Fallout 5. Howard had previously confirmed this order.

However, if we look at the release periods between big role-playing blockbusters Bethesda, then the waiting time for Elder Scrolls 6 could be very long. It’s been many years since Skyrim (2011), Fallout 4 (2015), and Fallout 76 (2018) were released. After the release of Starfield it will probably be at least another three or four years before The Elder Scrolls 6 is released. A release before 2026 is probably rather unlikely. Even GTA 6 is expected to be available before then.
