Dimitrij Schaad spoke out in favor of abolishing the concept of migration. The star criticizes this as no longer up-to-date.

German cinema viewers should know the actor Dimitrij Schaad (37) especially as the main character Marc-Uwe Kling from the two hit films “The Kangaroo Chronicles” (2020) and “The Kangaroo Conspiracy” (2022). Together with his brother, the director Alex Schaad (32), Schaad grew up in Kazakhstan until he was eight years old, before the family moved to Germany. In a double interview with his brother in the February 7 issue of “Zeit Campus”, the actor has now campaigned for the abolition of the concept of migration.

Dimitrij Schaad: “That no longer corresponds to reality”

“In the meantime, every fourth person has a migration background,” Schaad said, adding: “Another shitty term that we should stop using.” The 37-year-old criticizes the concept of migration in particular for a division “into a we and a they”. According to Schaad, this would “no longer correspond to reality”.

“Aus meine Haut” is currently showing in German cinemas

Alex Schaad’s feature film directorial debut was released in German cinemas on February 2 with the science fiction film “Aus meine Haut”. Dimitrij Schaad plays one of the main roles in the work directed by his brother. The filmmaker revealed in “Zeit Campus” about working with his brother: “It’s great to have someone like Dimi by my side in an industry that’s so self-absorbed that you can only trust a few people”. Nevertheless, there would occasionally be disagreements between the brothers, revealed Dimitrij Schaad. “I’ve known you since you were born, I love you and you annoy me sometimes. All emotional levels are happening at the same time,” says the actor.
