A 2-year-old child was found alone and without shoes walking on a departmental road, in Gironde, on the night of February 4 to 5. According to his parents, he would have escaped their vigilance.
A funny story. On the night of Saturday February 4 to Sunday February 5, a child aged 2 and a half was found, alone and barefoot, in the middle of a secondary road located around Paillet, in Gironde, as reported by our colleagues from South West. It was a woman who was driving in her car on the famous road who saw the baby around 4 am. Surprised and worried to discover the baby alone at that time, the motorist made him get into his vehicle before calling the gendarmes.
After his call, a patrol from the Bouliac Gendarmerie Surveillance and Intervention Platoon (PSIG) took charge of the child and took him to the Langoiran brigade. Because of his young age, it was difficult for the police to identify him and to understand the reasons for his presence, at such a late hour and without shoes moreover, on this departmental road. It was the companion of one of the gendarmes who managed, by chance, to recognize the baby. And for good reason, she works in the school where he attends.

The child wanted to see… his grandfather
His parents were then immediately summoned to the gendarmerie. The latter explained that their toddler would have actually left their home without them realizing it, their front door having remained closed, but not locked. He would have liked to go… to his grandfather! After having escaped the vigilance of his parents, the young child would therefore have found himself on this country road in the middle of the night. He has since been returned to his father and mother who, for their part, were heard by the gendarmes. They are the subject of a procedure for abandonment of child.
