LG Display has announced a brand new technology, it’s its 97-inch OLED.EX TV. The latter would offer 5.1 sound without any speakers. How ? Through the vibrations of technology Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO). The manufacturer is also presenting the first 42-inch and 48-inch OLED.EX models for gamers.

Vibrating a slab to produce sound is nothing new. Sony has already presented similar technology, in addition to a small subwoofer located in the foot of the TV, the Sony Bravia Oled can produce sound thanks to vibrations by small motors on the back. The experience was already amazing.

This 97-inch OLED.EX screen – nearly 2.5 meters diagonally – therefore uses the brand new Cinematic Sound OLED (CSO) technology. We had already seen this technology in action in a curved LG screen. The part that vibrates the screen remains very thin, and LG promises that the sound quality will not be affected. Obviously, for those who wish to enjoy sound with a precision and richness truly worthy of the pedigree of this television, it will, as always, be necessary to invest in quality dedicated sound equipment.

Regarding this 97-inch model, in the C2 range, it is already planned for the second half for around 25,000 euros. Which means the same model with technology CSO should give an even steeper fare.

42 and 48 inch OLED.EX

LG Display also introduced the first 42-inch and 48-inch OLED.EX models for those looking for rather compact TVs. On the C2 range, the 42 and 48 inches do not benefit from the OLED.EX panel… things will change.

And, OLED in 20 inches!

The South Korean manufacturer told The Elec magazine that the first 20-inch panels should be manufactured and delivered this year. Unlike the smaller OLED panels previously available, the new screens should arrive on screens intended for the general public. This should include smaller monitors and large laptops used for both work and gaming. What offer an alternative to QD-OLED.
