a beautiful promise of power and elegance

Where Realme made the show is with the brightness which can reach 6,000 nits (local peak of brightness) and should generally reach 1,600 nits. Excellent news for those who like to enjoy HDR content, for example.

Under the hood, the Realme GT 6 features the powerful Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 processor coupled with 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 512 GB of storage. During our handling, the smartphone handled multitasking and resource-intensive applications effortlessly.

Photo: solid performance, but without revolution

Realme has never really excelled in the photography department and we didn’t really expect much. The Realme GT 6 photo block includes three sensors:

  • 50 Mpx wide-angle in f/1.4;
  • 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle in f/2.2;
  • 50 Mpx in f/2.8 for the telephoto lens.

Solid equipment that Realme has decided to boost with artificial intelligence, following the philosophy of Google Pixel, to combine AI to better interpret reality. We must admit that we were skeptical, until we took our first photos.

Thus, the photos obtained display a very beautiful sharpness, a lively colorimetry, certainly flattering, but which greatly appeals to the general public, especially young people, whom Realme clearly targeted during the press conference.

We will come back to this during our full test, but the result is already quite interesting and much better than what the brand currently offers. However, more in-depth tests will be necessary before really taking a position.

In low light conditions, the Realme GT 6 does very well. Above all, you need to target the areas you want to highlight to obtain the best result.

Last little stunning point, the video in the dark. By using AI, the smartphone manages to capture what our eyes cannot see, colors included.

Quite an impressive result, especially when compared with an iPhone 15 Pro.

The Realme GT 6 battery is designed with dual-cell architecture, for faster charging and better heat dissipation. It has a total capacity of 5000 mAh, and after intensive use, we think that the promise of a good day of use will be respected.

But we didn’t have time to test the 120W fast charging, which Realme claims should charge the phone to 100% in less than an hour.

The expression flagship killer is often used, but rare are the cases where the title is truly deserved. Here, without being able to say with certainty yet, our first impressions are very positive. An elegant and robust design, power, photographic qualities boosted by AI and promising autonomy, these are all points where the GT 6 seems to shine.

Especially since its price is very aggressive, with a reduction at launch. So, count on 550 euros until July 1, then 600 euros for the GT 6 8 GB + 256 GB. The GT 6 12 GB + 256 GB is 600 euros until July 4, then 700 euros thereafter. Finally, the GT 6 16 GB + 512 GB is sold at 700 euros until July 4, then increases to 800 euros.

You will note that even at the full price, the quality/price ratio seems to be in its favor. We will begin real testing very soon to verify our first impressions. The first flagship killer of 2024 perhaps comes from a manufacturer that we did not expect.
