Avatar Frontiers of Pandora Pushed to Fiscal Year 2023
Ubisoft will not be able to take advantage of the exposure of Avatar 2: The Way of the Water to boost sales of its video game adaptation. Anxious to make the best copy possible, the publisher is shifting the game’s release to fiscal year 2023. In simpler terms, this means thatAvatar Frontiers of Pandora will only arrive between April 2023 and March 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A large output window.
Ubi justified its decision in a press release:
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will launch between 2023 and 2024. We are committed to delivering a cutting-edge, immersive experience that takes full advantage of next-gen technology as this incredible brand of entertainment known across the globe represents a major opportunity across multiple years for Ubisoft.
“Over several years”… Does the publisher have plans to feed it in the long term or already in mind to develop different games? We will have to wait to find out more.
An open world from The Division 2 team
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is being produced by Swedish studio Massive Entertainment under the supervision of Disney and director James Cameron’s production company Lightstorm Entertainment. It is an open-world action-adventure game with RPG elements. We should therefore have a formula close to what we know about other current Ubisoft titles.
