Finally ! After a short period of exclusivity, this new free Batman Arkham release is accessible to more people. However, some are complaining about this recent surprise.
Batman is one of the most cult superheroes of all time. If the character was able to leave the boxes of countless comics to shine in the cinema, not all the time, it was more complicated in the video game. But everything changed in 2009 thanks to the English from Rocksteady Studios and the game Arkham Asylum. The start of a trilogy which left its mark and which is a model of its genre. Recently, these essential titles were re-released during a Nintendo Switch port. There was even a very nice little addition which is now aimed at a wider audience.
A free gift for Batman Arkham on PS, Xbox and PC
Batman Arkham Trilogy is (finally) available on Nintendo Switch and it’s not a pretty sight. The conclusion was quickly clear: it was a technical disaster with a list of problems as long as your arm. And it is the last part which suffers the most due to a framerate lower than 30fps – with frequent drops as a bonus -, a big loss of details for a much lower graphic quality, even for elements like the Bat- Signal, with a significantly reduced depth of field or even 810p resolution in docked mode without anti-aliasing.
The disaster is less significant for Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, but overall it is very disappointing. On the other hand, until now, the Nintendo Switch version had an advantage over previous versions of the games. It offered the “Battison” skin from The Batman. A temporary exclusion given that Rocksteady Studios had announced that it would be available on other platforms at a “later date”. And that’s it.
For a few hours, Robert Pattinson’s costume can be worn in Batman Arkham Knight on all platforms. A small update has been deployed on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC for this purpose. A nice present ? Some are disappointed with the result compared to previous skins.
What’s wrong with this The Batman costume? Its rendering on PlayStation, Xbox consoles and PC. Some believe that it is less detailed than others. Is it true ? Clearly, if we look for example at the Dark Knight skin below posted on Reddit, there is no photo. “It’s really pixelated up close compared to any other costume. It must be a mistake because even the photo they put on Facebook is a world away from what we have” declares a user. A future update to correct all this?
