The big-eared firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has released a special program on Disney+ for the occasion. The reviews are in and it’s a gem for fans.
The new Disney+ features for October 2023 are more numerous than usual. A particularly good month if you value superheroes since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available. Tomorrow, Friday October 20, a colorful version of Werewolf by Night will be added and it is not unanimously accepted, including by the original director. Quite the opposite of a short film which has already amazed many subscribers.

Nostalgia is hitting the new Disney+ October 2023 releases and there’s good reason for that. Mickey’s firm celebrates its hundredth anniversary. “100 years of history and magic” for which the company had to offer something unique to fans. And what could be better than highlighting those who have made the big-eared society famous?
This is what the company did by producing a short film for Disney+, Once Upon a Studio. “A love letter to the studio, its artists and its fans,” said a press release before the release. A 12-minute program that mixes digital images with traditional hand drawing. When all the visitors have left, 545 characters like Mickey & Minnie, Moana, Ursula, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, Bambi, Cinderella, Winnie the Pooh and Elsa and Anna from Frozen come back to life for a “spectacular group photo”.
Disney+ hit the nail on the head given the feedback. For the Disneyphile site, it is a “a true testimony of adoration and respect to the memory of a hundred years of creation, imagination and magic”. For the Parisian, it’s a small miracle. “Upon arrival, “Once Upon a Studio” appears as a little animated miracle: the entire history of Disney fits there, in a few minutes. And, whether you are 9 or 99 years old, there is bound to be a character who evokes memories and brings you to tears. As funny as it is upsetting ».
