a big overhaul in 2023, the first images

Some lucky ones are trying out the upcoming Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One dashboard redesign. Here’s what it will look like and the new options that will be available.

The Xbox Series and Xbox will be further developed in the coming months. Or even now if you’re enrolled in the Xbox Insiders program. Microsoft is indeed testing a new interface common to its consoles, based on player feedback, for more responsiveness and entering a game more quickly.

Xbox Series and Xbox One get a makeover

Microsoft has rolled out an update for the upcoming new Xbox Series and Xbox One interface. “We’re focused on making it faster and easier to get to the games you love and find your next favorite title” said Ivy Krislov, senior product manager at Xbox. Being in the private test phase, this dashboard will develop in the coming weeks thanks to user feedback. But here are the main changes.

This Xbox Series and Xbox One home menu will introduce a new “Jump back in” bar to return more quickly to the latest games and applications launched. The thumbnail of the most recently used game or application, on the far left, will also be the same size as the others. Currently, it is larger.

There will also be shortcuts for the Microsoft Store, a Search function and a “My games & apps” box. An option “Add to play later” is also provided with categories and recommendations that will be based on your preferences, or a section “Recently added to Xbox Game Pass”.
