Helldivers 2 welcomes its first patch which brings new features and a lot of balancing. You may need to rethink your strategy for spreading democracy!

Until now, Helldivers 2 had only received patches aimed at correcting bugs. There is therefore reason to be excited to see new content arriving in the game. If it is not yet the famous mechas, this patch risks in any case shaking up now well-established habits! Let’s see this in detail.

Big change for Helldivers 2

A little less than a month after its release, Helldivers 2 receives its very first patch adding content and balancing. The studio had unfortunately been too busy until then with server problems and other bugs. However, everything comes to those who wait. Titled “minor patch 01.000.100”, this update is actually nothing minor. She intends to greatly renew the experience for veteran Helldivers.

Among the most notable elements of the patch, we will notably note new planetary dangers. During your missions, you now risk facing fire tornadoes, falling meteors and other joys kept secret for the moment. As if the missions weren’t dangerous enough already!

Balancing at all levels

In addition to this major addition, the patch notes dwell at length on important balancing changes. For starters, Eradication missions will now require taking down more enemies and will take longer to complete. Next, many equipment and stratagems will undergo some overhaul. The Crusher shotgun, the electromagnetic rifle and the shield backpack will significantly lose effectiveness.

Conversely, the flamethrower, the laser cannon and the 380 and 120 mm orbital bombardments should regain some favor with the Helldivers. Finally, who says patch necessarily means its share of fixes. Fixes

  • Fixed a bug with armor values ​​not reducing damage as intended.

Known issues

There are issues that were either introduced by this patch or that we are working on, or came from a previous version and have not yet been fixed.

  • The game may crash after the chain deployment of several powerful stratagems.
  • Picking up items from caches can freeze characters in place for a long period of time.
  • Picking up items from bunkers and caches quickly can make an item impossible to pick up.
  • Players cannot unfriend other players added via a friend code.
  • Players may not be able to select their equipment or return to their ship when joining a multiplayer game via the Activity Map on PS5.
  • The mission objective HUD display shows different numbers for the client and host during certain missions.
  • The default armor is always displayed when viewing the Battle Pass, regardless of what armor the player has equipped.
  • The display of the text chat window is obstructed by the display of the cutscene during extraction.
  • Some text in the ATH/UI is missing or not displayed correctly.
  • Players may experience issues when trying to connect and/or play at the same time:
  • The connection rate is limited
  • Players can be connected during a game
