FF7 Remake 2 is still mysterious, but a secret message would hide some key information about the story and more specifically about a character
Where will we take FF7 Rebirth ? After a first part with a disconcerting end, the continuation of FF7 Remake planned for this winter should surprise players even more. Fans of the original version of Final Fantasy 7 even have a small lump in their stomachs for fear of seeing FF7 Remake 2 completely distort the original work. The only Rebirth trailer released so far gives us few clues as to what awaits our heroes. The recent messages from the development team would hide a secret message concerning him.

A hidden message about Final Fantasy 7 Remake 2 discovered
In recent days, Square Enix has shared, on Twitter, information about FF7 Remake 2 via questions posed to the development team. On the social network, a license specialist would have managed to detect a secret message by looking at the words highlighted in the answers of the big names involved in the development of the game. According to her, each part in green would actually refer to the story of Zack Fair in FF7 Rebirth.
Zack is an important character for the plot of Final Fantasy 7. He also recently had the right to remaster his solo adventure with FF7 Crisis Core Reunion. Normally dead in the original game, it turns out that at the end of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, good old Zack is well and truly on his feet, at least that’s what we are led to believe. There are many theories on this subject and for the moment, no one has a real answer. No wonder fans try to decipher the slightest clue, as is the case here with the messages left by Square Enix on social networks.
Note, however, that in French, the meaning seems very different from what the Japanese version of the same message transcribes, which is the one deciphered here. On Twitter, therefore, Audrey (Aitaikimochi), indicates that the highlighted parts would have a special meaning. She therefore translates them as follows: “to restore time”, “freedom dearly paid”, “the place of destiny” and “to stand ready”. Phrases that seem well linked to Zack Fair. The hero indeed seems to have defied space-time to find himself in FF7 Remake 2. The second sentence is quite simply one of the last he utters in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7while the destiny of the heroes has clearly been turned upside down in FF7 Remake.
Cloud and Sephiroth pig buddies?
Beyond bringing some factual elements to the players concerning FF7 Remake 2, these messages would therefore contain a hidden message. A confirmation of the importance that Zack Fair will have in the game, but also that FF7 Remake 2 could be part of an alternate reality or a timeline different from that of the original FF7. The last statement made by Teruki Endo, combat director of the RPG, talks about friendship and cooperation. With an image of Cloud and Sephiroth in the background. As the trailer released in 2022 suggested, the two rivals could therefore work together in FF7 Rebirth. How will the development team justify this scriptwise? We will have to wait until the end of the year to find out.
