According to information collected this Wednesday, April 7, 2021 by Le Parisien, the investigators found a body under a concrete slab at the home of Aurélie Vaquier, who has been missing for more than two months.
A jump in the investigation for the disappearance of Aurélie Vaquier, since January 28, 2021, does not bode well. “A lifeless body was found concealed under a concrete slab at Aurélie Vaquier’s home by soldiers from the Béziers gendarmerie company, the Montpellier research section and the IRCGN (Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie)”, declared in a press release the public prosecutor’s office of Béziers, relayed this Wednesday, April 7, 2021 by The Parisian.
According to the newspaper, the investigators were surprised by this “denouement”, even if for the moment, “The technicians in criminal investigation of the Montpellier gendarmerie group proceed to the meticulous extraction of the body which has not yet been formally identified and a forensic doctor comes to the scene.”

Aurélie Vaquier’s companion currently in police custody
The press release indicates that Aurélie’s companion, “A 39-year-old man who still resides in the couple’s home was taken into custody late in the morning.” The slab is located inside the home in Bédarieux (Hérault) where the couple lived. Work was underway to transform the accommodation into a shop. Site objects covered this slab. Le Parisien specifies that the spouse of the missing lived “a few centimeters from the found body.” The latter has always said to the gendarmerie that Aurélie had left for a literary retreat.
The investigating judge is now “seized with facts of murder and no longer just kidnapping and forcible confinement“.
