In 2016, a few months after his election as president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino found “insulting” the capping of his fixed gross salary, during his talks with the organization’s compensation subcommittee. Since then, the remuneration of the Italian-Swiss boss of world football has skyrocketed, thanks, in particular, to the bonuses granted to him.
According to FIFA’s 2022 annual report, the manager’s total annual compensation (including bonuses and before taxes) amounts to 3.6 million Swiss francs (3.62 million euros). Following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Mr. Infantino will receive a bonus of 1.66 million euros in 2023 – between 2021 and 2022, his annual bonus had increased by 626,000 euros. In addition to the “lump sums” and other benefits granted by FIFA, his basic annual gross salary amounts to 1.969 million euros. For comparison, Mr. Infantino had received a bonus of just under 840,000 euros after the 2018 edition of the World Cup in Russia.

FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura saw her annual bonus double between 2021 and 2022: it reached 606,000 euros. His overall annual salary (including bonuses) is 1.918 million euros in 2022. In 2016, when they arrived at the head of the international federation, neither Mr. Infantino nor Mr.me Samoura had granted themselves no bonuses. Their overall annual salary was then respectively 1.528 million euros and 845,000 euros. In 2015, the salary of ex-FIFA president Sepp Blatter was valued at 3.2 million euros and that of ex-secretary general Jérôme Valcke at 1.87 million euros. .
Eleven billion in revenue expected between 2023 and 2026
As for the members of the FIFA Council, including the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noël Le Graët, they receive, in addition to daily allowances and living expenses, an annual remuneration of 250,000 dollars (233,000 euros). . The vice-presidents of the authority receive them, 300,000 dollars annually.
FIFA announced record revenue of $7.6 billion at the end of the 2019-2022 business cycle. Its reserves amount to 3.97 billion dollars at the end of 2022. For the 2023-2026 cycle, FIFA has anticipated revenues, excluding the Club World Cup, of 11 billion dollars.
