Teased earlier this month, the action-RPG Wild Hearts from EA and Omega Force offers a first gameplay video. Objective ? Take shares in Monster Hunter.
A Monster Hunter from the developers of Dynasty Warriors? No one had thought of it but EA did! So here is Wild Hearts which gives us its first trailer and information.
A Monster Hunter clone is revealed
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force will join forces with Electronic Arts to offer an alternative to Monster Hunter. An action-RPG that takes place in a fantasy world inspired by Feudal Japan. Playable alone or up to three in total online, the software will let you hunt beasts that have merged with their environment by relying on karakuris. Mechanisms “sophisticated designed from ancestral and forgotten technologies” which act as traps.
Wild Hearts takes place in Azuma, an imaginary land inspired by feudal Japan ravaged by kemonos, once peaceful creatures that ransack their environment by sowing death among the population. The kemonos are of various natures, from the small squirrel with vegetable hybridization to the enormous horn-royal boars. After a terrible fight against the Frostwolf, players will have to mobilize their skills to survive, with the vital goal of restoring balance throughout the region.
Several possibilities are available to players: favor combat by participating in special missions while hunting in a pack, join other hunters who have gone on an adventure or face kemonos solo.
This EA Originals aims to bring the “next level monster hunting game”. And this is one of the reasons why Koei Tecmo preferred to go with a new license and not a Toukiden 3. the artistic direction and the magic of Japanese landscapes.
A release date and crossplay for Wild Hearts
Wild Hearts will be released exclusively on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 17, 2023. The entry ticket on consoles will be €79.99, at PlayStation and Xbox, and “only” €69.99 on PC (Origin , Steam and Epic Games Store). And finally, excellent news: the title will be crossplay from its launch.
