A candidate from the Reconquest list for the European elections convicted of online harassment

THE candidate for the European elections on the Reconquête! list, Damien Rieu, was sentenced Friday in Nîmes to 8 months in prison for online harassment. The facts date back to April 2017, when he broadcast on his Twitter account (now renamed X) in the name of Damien Rieu what the plaintiff’s lawyers described as a “private video”.

Damien Rieu’s X account currently has 255,000 subscribers. The identity activist, unsuccessful candidate for Reconquest in the 2022 legislative elections in Nice, appears in 12th place on the list of the Zemmourist party in the European elections, led by Marion Maréchal.
