A 9-year-old boy was found unconscious in a house in the north of the country. The man arrested had already been convicted of murder and sexual assault.
Horror in Spain. A 9-year-old boy, who was celebrating Halloween with friends, was kidnapped and then murdered on the night of Thursday October 28 to Friday October 29, reports an article by The Independent. While playing with a comrade in a park in Lardero, a small town in the north of the country, a man allegedly enticed the child to come to his house to see his puppies, before kidnapping him. According to the first elements of the investigation, the alleged attacker would have confused the boy, whose disguise was inspired by the film The Exorcist, with a girl.
After being warned by the child’s family, the police went to the place of the kidnapping. It was a young girl, victim of an attempted kidnapping, who guided them to the suspect’s home. The boy was unconscious and could not be resuscitated by the emergency services. According to investigators, he died of suffocation.
Several attempts to abduct children
The man was sadly known in Lardero. Since arriving in the small town in 2020, he had tried several times to kidnap children, always with the same modus operandi. The little girl who took the police to the alleged assailant said in particular that he had offered to come and see his birds. “When he was not going out to the park, because there were a lot of parents, he would stay at the window watching and the children had taken a picture of him with their cellphones,” explains the girl’s mother.
The suspect was also known to the police. He was first sentenced to seven years in prison for sexual assault on a minor, but was released before the end of his sentence. He was then jailed for 30 years for the sexual assault and murder of a real estate agent in 1998.
