A citrus press for the Thermomix TM6 and Monsieur Cuisine Smart by Mixcover

The multifunction cookers have not stolen their name. Most of them know how to chop, mix, knead, brown, simmer, or even steam. Some can also accommodate a battery of accessories to do even more. In this game, Magimix is certainly doing the best with its Cook Expert and Cook Expert XL. But that was without counting on third-party players, such as Mixcover and its peeler for the Thermomix, since revisited by Vorwerk itself with its peeler blade cover. Far from stopping in such a good way, the German company has enriched its catalog with another accessory intended to extend the functionalities of the latest Thermomix, the TM6: a citrus press. This utensil is also compatible with the previous model (TM5) and there is a version designed for the Monsieur Cuisine Smart from Silvercrest, a Lidl brand.

Ever more versatile robots

Rather common on multifunction kitchen robots as well as on pastry robots, the citrus press is often absent on multifunction cookers. Magimix is also one of the few manufacturers to market one for its Cook Expert range – in addition to a juicer! Thanks to Mixcover, owners of a Thermomix TM5/TM6 or a Monsieur Cuisine Smart can now taste the benefits of freshly squeezed juices.

It should be noted that the citrus press is not entirely new on the side of Thermomix: the company already offered one to place on the tank of the robot. This new version fits on the original lid; the juicer for Lidl’s device was designed on the same basis. In the absence of a rim, the accessory is blocked on the handles of the lid in order to avoid disasters in the event of incorrect handling. In both cases, a rod slides on the axis of rotation of the blades to transmit the movement to the cone of the citrus press. Mixcover provides two cones of different sizes and has provided a two-level filter system to adjust the amount of pulp. The amount of juice that can be squeezed will depend on the capacity of the bowl: 2.2 l at Vorwerk, against 3 at Silvercrest.

Whatever the version, for Thermomix or Monsieur Cuisine Smart, the accessory is already available for around forty euros.
