It is still difficult to find a Graphic card GeForce RTX 40 series designed for a mini-ITX case. ASUS offers a solution.

The – imminent – release of the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER further improves the performance/price ratio of NVIDIA cards, but some users are still looking for very compact models.

It could be that ASUS has an answer – at least partial – to offer them with a GeForce RTX 4060 model that we call low profile, a term to designate its very low height, half of the classic cards.

“Half-height” format

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4060 LP BRK 8GB GDDR6 has a long name, but this is clearly not the case for its format, the brand announces dimensions of 188 x 69 x 39 millimeters.

GeForce RTX 40 series models measuring less than 20 centimeters – especially in the 4060 range – are nothing new. On the other hand, if the card is what we call a “half-height” or “low profile” model in English, it is already more original.

Such dimensions naturally orient the card towards very compact configurations, in mini-ITX format. While other GeForce RTX 4060s designed for mini-ITX exist, many cases do not accommodate full-height cards.

3,072 cores, like all RTX 4060

This is therefore the case of this RTX 4060 LP BRK 8GB GDDR6 which, for the rest, displays technical characteristics consistent with its range with its AD107-400 GPU equipped with 3,072 CUDA cores and its 8 GB of GDDR6.

Compact format requires, ASUS was forced to review the cooling system which nevertheless uses three fans mounted on a thick heatsink. This is also the cause of a (small) disappointment: the card monopolizes two PCI Express slots like many other models. You will therefore have to be careful about the box used despite everything.

Also pay attention to the presence of an 8-pin power cable, because to conserve power, it is a question of a TDP of 115 watts and not 75 watts as on the most economical models. Finally, note that Gigabyte has already mentioned a fairly similar card, but its availability is questionable. Hopefully this ASUS model will be easier to find.
