Eve is left reeling after witnessing Curtis getting shot right before her eyes. After regaining her composure, she hastily collects the money and makes her escape, all while a local resident observes her actions.
The following day, law enforcement arrives at the crime scene. Yann confirms that the gunfire was executed by a professional hitman. He also speculates that Curtis was meeting someone and was likely caught in a web of revenge.
Meanwhile, a sleepless Eve confides in Eliott about the traumatic event. She explains that the chaos unfolded too quickly for her to identify the shooter. She admits to Eliott that she had arranged to meet Curtis to settle part of her debt. Eliott is puzzled as to why his mother transferred funds for plane tickets if she didn’t plan to return to Abidjan.
Eve clarifies that if Curtis had refused to negotiate and things escalated, she wanted him to have the means to escape with his family. Moved by her intentions, Eliott apologizes for putting her in this predicament but can’t shake off his concern for her safety.
