A couple and their baby roll down the side of cliffs when a one-ton rock breaks loose, the outcome is staggering

They were scared for their lives. This Saturday, April 15, around 6:30 p.m. on departmental road 17 in Toudon (Alpes-Maritimes), a ca couple in their twenties and their one-month-old baby hit by a rock weighing about a ton that fell off a cliff and crashed into their car, reports Le Figaro.

According to our colleagues, no serious injuries are fortunately to be deplored. The woman was slightly injured and her companion was also slightly injured knee. Finally, the infant who was also in the vehicle escaped unscathed. The three victims were nevertheless transported to the Pasteur hospital center in Nice. 13 firefighters intervened for this accident.

A car already hit by a rock in 2018

This is not the first time that such an accident has occurred in the Alpes-Maritimes. In May 2018, in Saint-Jean-la-Rivière, a driver was violently hit by a rock weighing several tens of kilos while he was driving quietly on a small winding road in the La Vésubie valley, between Lantosque and Utelle. The giant piece of stone entered almost directly through the windshield which shattered under the effect of the impact and destroyed the passenger side of the car. The victim had fortunately escaped with a simple injury to the arm.
