A cream for every problem: "I am a nursing junkie"

A crucible for everything? This is inconceivable for our author, who collects cans and tubes in her bathroom like other stamps …

The other day I visited my friend Anna, who had exactly two tubes on her bathroom shelf. One night and one day cream. That killed me. "Why do you only have two creams? Where's the rest?", I asked stunned. "You don't need more, do you?", She replied. Could you be serious? "Honestly, where did you hide the rest?" I said mildly, smiling. Anna shook her head. She obviously didn't understand what I was talking about.

I have three body lotions and five hand creams alone. Add to that the four day creams (not counting serums) that I tried and didn't use because I think the next one will be even better. The night cream I use on warm days and the one I use on colder days. In addition, a foot cream, an eye cream and eight tubes of Bepanthen cream. Since I found out that it is sold in English supermarkets as diaper ointment for a third of the price it costs in pharmacies in Germany, I have always got a generous supply when traveling to the UK. The tubes are right next to my giant tube of zinc cream. It never hurts.

On my bedside table is really and without exception not only one of these wound and healing ointments exported from England, but also a can of Nivea. After all, you can use it for everything. If necessary, even for the feet or for quick hair styling. There must be a hand cream in my pockets, otherwise I will get nervous. The same goes for the creamy lip balm in a pocket in each of my jackets. Is that pathological? I don't know, it's normal for me.

A body lotion? I need at least three!

There is nothing worse for me than very dry skin. It itches, looks nasty and above all doesn't have to be. After all, with the right cream the problem is quickly resolved. That's why I have one for everyone. One body lotion, for example, for very dry areas with urea and one for the abdomen and thighs that tightens with Q10. And then of course the one that smells so wonderful of lemon from Biotherm for the really gray days. When I use it, I feel better straight away. A similar principle can be applied to all other parts of the body, especially my hands.

As I said, I have a cream for practically every problem. But one thing remains: I am still looking for the best for my face. It is slightly tense today. I long for the crucible or tube that makes me supple. I don't just mean my skin. That's why I have to stop writing and go to the drugstore, perfumery or pharmacy (or go to all three in succession) – and finally buy a new care product. This time it will be the right one.
