Harry Potter 7, part 1 and 2, is a part that will have moved a whole generation of fans. These two films have their share of emotion, it is undeniable. But the production had to make choices and ignore certain sequences shot at the time. Fortunately, the magic of the internet allows you to get your hands on these scenes that have not been shown in theaters. Lately, we’ve seen a lot of scenes cut from Harry potter resurface on social networks. But one of them particularly caught the attention of the fans because it is of an unnamed emotion.

Far from the wizarding world but part of Harry's life, the Dursleys have always had an important role in history. At the beginning of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the Dursley family is forced to leave Privet Drive in the face of the war against Voldemort which is preparing. What we don't see in the final version of the film is Harry's conversation with his aunt Petunia and then with Dursley. A crucial scene that reveals the complexity of their relationship.

First, Harry joins Petunia in the empty living room of their house. As she contemplates her home one last time, Harry tries to explain to her that it is far too dangerous for them to stay here. Petunia interrupts him in his speech and says to him: "Do you think I don't know what they can do? You didn't just lose your mother Harry. I lost my sister." In a reply Petunia reveals the suffering that has plagued it for all these years. Despite what she did to Harry, despite the complex relationship she had with her sister, an ounce of humanity emerges in this scene from Petunia.

Then Harry talks to his cousin Dudley. As he prepares to get into the car and flee with his parents, he asks his father why he is not coming. Harry replies: "Because I don't want to take up space for nothing." Dudley shyly walks over to Harry. He shakes his hand and says to him: "I don't think you would have taken up space for nothing." Faced with danger, the Dursleys were therefore more humane and compassionate towards Harry. This scene did not leave indifferent fans of the saga who regret not having seen it in the final editing of the film.
