A “direct and hard” exchange between Karl Nehammer and Putin

VIENNA, April 11 (Reuters) – Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer had a “tough” exchange with Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday, where he was the first European leader to meet the Russian president one-on-one since the invasion from Ukraine.

“It was not a friendly meeting,” said Karl Nehammer in a statement released by his services, in which he said he went to Russia to not miss any chance of ending the war.

“The discussion with President Putin was very direct, open and tough,” he said. (Report by Francois Murphy, French version Tangi Salaün)
