A 17-year-old boy was killed and four others were seriously injured after a knife attack in a Wisconsin river.
A knife attack took place in Wisconsin on Saturday. A 17-year-old boy died and four other people were seriously injured while in the Apple River, authorities said. The drama happened as the group descended along the river. The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office said its teams are trying to figure out the motive behind such a crime.
Police also want to know whether or not the suspect knew the victims, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. “We don’t yet know who is connected with whom, who knew who, or what precipitated all of this. Thank goodness a witness took a photo of the suspect,” said Sheriff Scott Knudson. “Another witness saw him on the way out of the river area, where he was arrested and taken into custody,” he added.
Police did not immediately release the names of the suspect or victims, but said those affected and who survived are a woman and three men in their 20s who suffered serious to serious injuries to their torsos or chests. . The suspect is a 52-year-old man living in Prior Lake, Minnesota. “His name is being kept private pending formal charges, which are scheduled for Monday,” officials added. “It is tragic and shocking for the families who were in the river,” the sheriff commented to CNN.
