A DLC for Horizon Forbidden West

Like Horizon Zero Dawn who had benefited from additional content in the extension Frozen Wilds in 2017, Horizon Forbidden West will also be entitled to its own DLC. However, it will be necessary to be patient since the wait will last until April 19, 2023 before being able to survey the extension entitled Burning Shores.

Burning Shores DLC trailer for Horizon Forbidden West

Still in the guise of Aloy, Burning Shores will take you on a journey to a new region in the South, on the lands of the Tenakth clan. The young heroine will find herself in the ruins of Los Angeles, completely overgrown with vegetation, which she will be able to explore by water as well as by flying on a Wing of Helion. The story takes place shortly after the end of the main scenario, and will lead Aloy to have to overcome a new daunting challenge. A huge mechanical threat lurking in the shadows of the City of Angels.

Unfortunately for players who have opted for the PlayStation 4 version of the game, they will not be able to benefit from this extension, unless they switch to PlayStation 5. Indeed, Burning Shores will be exclusive to Sony’s next-gen console. A choice that will disappoint part of the public, but that Guerilla Games justifies by a desire to achieve something grandiose on the technical level.

To achieve this technically and creatively grand vision, we made the difficult decision to focus all of our efforts on creating an incredible experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console.
