A retired gynecologist from Val d’Oise is today targeted by 118 complaints from former patients for sexual violence. A worrying affair.

A number that shivers down your spine. This Tuesday, October 12, the sitetarget = “_ blank”> Days unveils an investigation into the behavior of “Doctor T”, a gynecologist who worked at Domont in the Val d’Oise. The latter is found at the heart of “The most serious case known to date of sexual violence targeting a gynecologist in France”. Indeed, this practitioner now retired, and who no longer has the right to practice, is targeted by many charges for rape and sexual assault. In total, there are 118 complaints filed against him and thousands of former patients have been contacted by the investigators in charge of the case.

According to the information site, the victims contacted tell that the gynecologist gave them slaps on the buttocks, caresses on the clitoris, kisses on the private parts and practiced “back and forth” during the vaginal touches. Acts reported for thirty years to the courts but also to the Council of the Order of Physicians. It was finally in 2014 that this specialist was indicted after receiving 75 complaints for rape and 14 for sexual assault, and had his right to practice withdrawn.

“It is fundamental to explain”

According to the descriptions given by the victims, the gynecologist was not targeting a specific type of woman and he was proceeding in a very specific way. According to them, it was “Cold and distant” at the reception of his patients and became “smiling” and “excited” during medical examinations. Invited on France Info this Wednesday, October 13, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran explained that there is “Violence that can exist in medicine, perhaps more in gynecology”, specifying that he was “Fundamental (for doctors) to explain what we are going to do”.

This new case comes out just after the revelations in mid-September of accusations of rape targeting the great specialist in endometriosis and gynecologist at Tenon hospital, Professor Emile Daraï.
