The France TV Slash platform is now releasing the first season of “Caro Nostra”, an ambitious series that follows the daily life of a family of ogres.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT ?

Vadim, the discreet, and Antigone, the rebel, are about to go back to college in Paris. Charismatic, the brother and sister leave no one indifferent. Especially not Yasmine, as intelligent… as appetizing. Because Vadim and Antigone are not human, they are ogres.

The twins, their father Ambroise, a refined cook, and their grandmother Rosa who is losing her mind, try to go unnoticed. They left Serbia in a hurry following a dark story of uncontrolled devouring. It’s not easy to stay in the shadows when you’re tempted to devour your friends or your neighbor and you’re fleeing a past that’s catching up with you. And then love exists, even when you’re an ogre. And love often takes its toll…

A SERIES THAT DROPS US INTO THE DAILY LIFE OF A FAMILY OF OGRES

For several years, France TV Slash has been shining for its originality by offering series that are more ambitious and unique than each other. With Caro Nostra, this is once again the case.

Loosely adapted from the El Diablo comic, A man of taste, Caro Nostra is a five-part series directed by Antoine Besse. The screenplay is written by El Diablo, Jean-Pierre Pascaud, Iris Jessey and Antoine Besse with the participation of Fanny Talmone.

To carry this series, France TV Slash has called on Abraham Wapler (Lycée Toulouse-Lautrec) and Ella Pellegrini (Les liaisonsdangereuses) who play the roles of Vadim and Antigone.

Nicolas Wanczicki (Lupin), Annie Mercier (The loves of Anaïs), Sonia Faidi (The delivery men), Diong-Kéba Tacu (Syndrome E), Grégoire Isvarine (The snake), Sandra Parfait (The Daval mystery), Ike Zaczongo- Joseph, Yuliya Abiss (The revenge of the glittery shrimps), Liliane Rovère (Ten percent) and Claire Pataut (The Trainee) complete the cast.

The series begins with Antigone, a young student, who is jogging in the forest when a hooded young man appears out of nowhere and tries to rape her. At this moment, the latter does not know that Antigone is not a human but an ogress hungry for fresh flesh. After having emasculated him, she calls his family to make the body disappear, which will of course serve as a meal for the Vigans.

After years of exile in Serbia, the Vigans, the last known clan of ogres, have returned to Paris in an attempt to lead a low-key life. But staying in the shadows isn’t easy when you’re tempted to devour those around you. So when the past catches up with you and love steps in, things aren’t really going to get any easier for this family of ogres.

Between the discreet Vadim and the rebellious Antigone, their father Ambroise, a refined cook who runs a small brasserie in Paris and Rosa, the grandmother who is losing her mind, Caro Nostra takes us on a story as delicious as it is crazy.
