Released in theaters on January 4, 2022, the film Skirmishers, with Omar Sy, tells the story of a Senegalese father and son put to the test by the Great War. Michel Goya, soldier and historian specializing in the First World War, called by the director Mathieu Vadepied to advise him on the shooting of his feature film, salutes a film which “highlights sacrifice and suffering” of these soldiers torn from their daily lives to be propelled into a world of which they knew almost nothing.
