Disney still proves to us today an evolution of mentalities. The mother of the cartoon "Luz in Osville" shared in a series of tweets information that has a taste of modernity. Her character Luz Noceda, a 14-year-old Dominican-American, is bisexual. Broadcast on Disney Channel since its launch in April 2020, the series "Luz à Osville" ("The Owl House" in original version) chronicles the life of a 14-year-old teenager, Luz, who decides to become a witch, then that she has no powers, to be able to be part of the magical world she has just discovered.

"I'm a terrible liar and sneaking it out would have been complicated. When we got the green light, a senior person at Disney told me I couldn't stage a bi or gay relationship on the Disney channel. Channel (…) I'm bisexual! I want to write a bi character, damn it! (…) My stubbornness paid off and I am now supported by the current management of Disney. ", Explained Dana Terrace, the creator, in one of his posts on Twitter.

“When I started developing 'Owl House' I wanted to do a prom episode to compensate for my own experiences. I'm incredibly grateful to the whole team that worked on this badass episode.”, He said. she adds. It was on August 8 (and August 16 in France) that the spectators were able to see a new episode of "Luz à Osville" on the theme of the prom, where Luz was dancing with another female character, Amity, in love for the girl.

This news is not unique in the world of the white glove mouse. Last May, the Disney + streaming platform unveiled its very first gay character: Greg, in the feature film "Out". Before that, last March, Disney released the movie "Onward", in which a supporting character was gay. Unfortunately, it was then censored in many countries.
