a first patch is coming, here’s what will change

Thousands of players rushed to Hades 2 upon its release on May 6 on PC. The feedback is excellent, but the studio already has areas for improvement for the first update.

Hades 2 was what we call a “Shadow Drop”. A game which has no release date and which is launched without warning by the developers. The sequel to Supergiant Games’ roguelike is therefore available, in early access, on Steam and the Epic Games Store at the price of €28.99. And despite its early access status, the teams did not do things by halves since the title is already titanic. This promises for the final version which will contain all the relevant feedback from the community.

Hades 2’s first patch detailed

To say that Hades 2 was extremely anticipated is an understatement. After the success of Hades, roguelike fans, and even those unfamiliar with the genre, were eager to get their hands on it. It is now possible and the game seems to keep all its promises. But like all early access titles, the software needs to be monitored and Supergiant Games has already started to deploy small fixes to remedy crashes or progression bugs. Like everyday life !

To avoid navigating in the dark, the developers rely on the Hades 2 community. In order for things to evolve in the right direction, the teams welcome all feedback, regardless of how it is shared. If you think something needs to be revised, please make your voice heard. A roadmap for this sequel has already been drawn up with a first patch, available later this month. This update will contain short-term improvements on two subjects in particular.

First, Supergiant Games wants resource gathering to be smooth and not frustrating. “We don’t want collecting resources to be too frustrating, for example if you didn’t bring the right tool” explains the Hades 2 studio. Then, there will also be something new in terms of travel. The next focus of the devs will be to make Melinoë even more agile and responsive, which will involve changes to its dash and sprint. The patch notes will arrive in due time, but Supergiant is ruling out any rebalancing in this first Hades 2 update for the moment.
