A few days before the Christmas holidays, Fnac would have preferred to avoid such looting. The logistics warehouse in Wissous, in Essonne, was visited at the end of last week by thieves who caused significant damage to the multimedia brand, estimated at 300,000 euros. The thugs left with several palettes of video games.
The thieves acted carefully
Obviously, the operation was carefully prepared. During the cold night of December 7 to 8, several individuals managed to steal a large quantity of video games, particularly palettes, before the alert was given around 4 a.m. on Friday.
The Wissous logistics warehouse, which therefore belongs to Fnac, is located not far from Orly airport, and allowed the thieves, once their misdeed was committed, to load their vehicles to escape from the highway A6 located nearby.
Originally, the Wissous logistics base, which Fnac has operated since 2022, is dedicated to the management and shipping of packages ordered by the merchant’s Internet customers.
Pallets of video games chilled… in refrigerated trucks
The police, who began their investigation, explained that the bandits loaded the large merchandise into two refrigerated trucks. Before that, they entered the warehouse by breaking windows.
The damage suffered amounts to 300,000 euros, according to a first estimate.
