A former police officer walks into a nursery and commits a horrific massacre


In Thailand, 35 people including at least 22 children died in a nursery in Na Klang in the north of the country. The main suspect, a 34-year-old former police officer, also killed his family before killing himself.

The killer fired from the police for drug problems

The assailant behind this killing is a 34-year-old former policeman, Panya Khamrab. After his massacre, the man would have fled by car, and would have hit several pedestrians, according to Colonel Jakkapat Vijitraithaya. The Daily News states that it allegedly returned home to kill his wife and child, before committing suicide.

The police had earlier issued a search warrant to find Panya Khamrab, who was in possession of a rifle, a pistol and a knife. According to the Guardian citing authorities, he was fired from his job last year because of a drug problem.

In a message posted on Facebook, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha sent his condolences to the families and the injured, and also ordered an investigation.
