a free novelty that radically changes the best quest

Skyrim has no shortage of iconic quests, but one of its most popular is getting a welcome overhaul that’s definitely worth checking out.

Despite being 13 years old, Skyrim continues to evolve thanks to the efforts of a passionate community. This is particularly the case for one of its best quests, which is entitled to a complete overhaul that may surprise even veteran players.

An unofficial expansion to one of Skyrim’s best quests

There is certainly no shortage of highlight quests in Skyrim, and they often relate to the game’s many complex factions. Among the most popular of the lot, the Dark Brotherhood holds a special place in many players’ memories. This group of assassins operating in the shadows has a unique aura, with iconic characters. Thanks to the “Destroy the Dark Brotherhood” mod, jayserpa (downloadable via Nexus Mods on PC) offers it a profound rewrite, which not only respects its identity, but strengthens it.

This one offers new ways to join it in Skyrim. Instead of a quest starting in Windhelm, the mod offers more freedom in this sense. Entering the Sanctuary will also take a completely different turn, requiring you to recover different passwords. As its name suggests, this unofficial extension will ask you to destroy the Dark Brotherhood from the inside. You will have to show a lot of ingenuity in this sense, like one of the fingers of the Black Hand. To do things well, jayserpa has even added new lines of recorded dialogue.

There is certainly no shortage of excellent mods of this caliber in Skyrim, which can transform this venerable title into a game that has nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to next-gen games. This is just another way to wait for The Elder Scrolls 6, which is apparently not about to be released, but is at least well on its way at Bethesda. Even though we know it will be released well before the equally anticipated Fallout 5, the American studio intends to take its time to do things right and offer a sequel worthy of the name to one of its most legendary titles.
