As reported, the first letters of information about the levy will go out to affected property owners in June. The first notifications will be sent out in August. The ÖVP is again criticizing. According to state manager Patrik Fazekas, the levy will be increased again before the notices are issued: “The SPÖ’s sole government has waited until Statistics Austria has published the new property prices.” Since the calculation of the levy would be based on this data, there would be one Increase. After the information letter went out, landowners would have four weeks to report any exceptions. If nothing is asserted, the levy will be collected in the autumn. For the calculation, either the Statistics Austria price or the levy is calculated based on the affordable building land price decreed by the state – whichever is lower. According to Dorner, this has been communicated for months. Those affected could contact the state’s information hotline.
