A Google Nest WiFi compatible wifi 6 approaching?

Google’s Nest WiFi router, available in France since the end of 2019, should benefit from a new version integrating wifi 6. This Nest WiFi “2” should be presented at the Made by Google conference to be held in the fall.

After Google WiFi and Google Nest WiFi, soon it’s time for Google Nest WiFi 2? In any case, this is what 9to5Google. This new version of the wifi router made by Google would come out with a simplified version integrating wifi 6, or even wifi 6E), a wireless network standard which notably makes it possible to multiply the streams that can be used simultaneously.

This router would take up the unified design of Google WiFi, while adopting the 802.11ax standard (notably supported by Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro). Users of a Nest WiFi 2 would thus be able to enjoy a speed of 9.6 Gb / s, a theoretical value much higher than wifi 5 (also known under the code name 802.11ac) and its 3, 5 Gbps.

always according to 9to5Google, this unique product would be marketed alone or as part of packs containing two or three terminals, depending on the needs of the home concerned. The objective is indeed to benefit from an optimal wifi coverage everywhere in the house, where the signal of a simple modem / router of operator will not necessarily carry.

Note that no source is currently able to confirm or deny whether the Google WiFi Nest 2 will also act as a Google Home connected speaker with Google Assistant, as its predecessor was capable of. We will probably have to wait until the start of the 2022 school year to find out more.
