Assassin’s Creed Shadows hasn’t said its last word and could well prepare a major surprise for us that no one expected. But it could well make some fans happy.
For several weeks, and even well before that unfortunately, Ubisoft has not been doing well. The company has problems with internal disagreements, postponements and cancellations of games, a fall in the stock market… It’s a disaster. A very serious situation which puts thousands of jobs at risk, something that must clearly not be forgotten. Ubisoft is not just a name, and all the developers who work hard behind it are doing their utmost to save the furniture. This is particularly the case with Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. If the second has already given us its roadmap for the coming months with all the big changes to come, the first has been postponed, but a surprise is being prepared internally.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows could have a nice surprise in store for us
According to the very informed Tom Henderson, who has already published several first-rate information concerning behind the scenes of the development of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft is preparing a major surprise for players. Visibly, a cooperative mode is currently in development for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The latter would for the moment be known under the code name “League”. Unfortunately, the informant does not give us more details, and we do not know what this new experience will offer us. We expect to be able to play Yasuke and Naori simultaneously to take advantage of each other’s skills. That in itself would be great, but other things are possible. Like playing other ninjas, like the young assassin for high-flying missions, or on the contrary, other strong warriors like Yasuke to fight head-on as a team. We’ll see.
The big return of multiplayer in the license?
For now, Henderson simply assures us that his sources told him that development of this mode had already begun well before the game was postponed. This is not a last minute addition, nor even something that would have pushed Assassin’s Creed Shadows to review its release. This is a bonus that was planned to be released shortly after the release of the game. We can perhaps now imagine that the latter will be available upon release, unless it is put on hold while all forces are refining the base game before 2025. As a reminder, another multiplayer experience, Assassin’s Creed Invictus, is expected to be released sometime in 2025 as well. The franchise could well surprise us by marking its big return to varied multiplayer experiences, it’s been a while since we’ve really had the right to it.
